The Magic Faraway Tree Trail

Open Wednesdays-Fridays from Wednesday 29th July- Friday 14th August, 10am-4pm

Kids and their families are invited on a very special adventure at Lamport Hall this summer holiday. The Magic Faraway Tree is a free spotter trail from Kids in Museums and Blyton Books, celebrating Enid Blyton’s much loved children’s book series. The book has recently inspired a hit family film, which sees children embarking on an adventure to a variety of magical lands. 

Each stop on the trail invites children and their families to explore some of the different worlds of the Magic Faraway Tree – from the Land of Topsy Turvy to the Land of Presents! Expect fun drawing and writing activities, plus prompts designed to spark conversations about what you’ve encountered in your visit. Complete the activity sheet to receive your Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure sticker!

There’s also a special drawing competition. Share your artwork on Instagram or BlueSky with the hashtag #MFTAdventure and tag @kidsinmuseums for a chance to win some fantastic prizes, including a Double National Art Pass Plus Kids courtesy of Art Fund, plus an Enid Blyton book bundle.

Admission Criteria

The trail itself is free to take part in but please note, a garden ticket will need to be purchased for all accompanying adults and children over 11. Under 11s go free and dogs on leads are welcome. All full price tickets are automatically upgraded to an annual pass, meaning you can come back as many times as you like when the gardens are open to the public for free. We also accept Historic Houses members for free and Gardener's World 2 for 1 entry.

Picnics are welcome but must be eaten on the picnic benches provided, not in the garden. The cafe is also open selling kids lunch boxes, sweet treats and light lunches.
