50th Anniversary Study Day

The Lamport Study Day returns in 2024 to help us to mark 50 years of the Preservation Trust
Speakers include local author and historian Neil Lyon, Dr Laura Engel from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, USA, Dr Megan Leyland from English Heritage and Dr Jane Eade from the National Trust.
All the speakers have contributed to our brand new exhibition catalogue which will be available for purchase on the day.
The schedule for the study day is as follows:
10am: Arrival with tea/coffee and biscuits
10:30am: Neil Lyon - the ups and downs of the country houses of Northamptonshire down the centuries
11:30am: Dr Laura Engel (Professor of English at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA) - a talk about Sir Gyles Isham, his acting career, Greta Garbo, and other actresses -- with ties to legacies of actresses/women artists of the past
12:30pm: Lunch
1:30pm: Dr Megan Leyland (Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage) lecture on the 19th century architectural changes to the Hall and Sir Charles Isham
2:30pm: Tea/coffee break
3pm: Dr Jane Eade (Curator at the National Trust) lecture on Joan Carlile
4pm: Question time with all the lecturers
4:30pm: Depart
Tickets are £60pp or £100 for two tickets bought together. Ticket price includes refreshments (two tea/coffee breaks and a lunch buffet). Please notify us of any dietary requirements in advance.
