50 Years: Take a Step Back in Time

Join us to celebrate 50 years of the Lamport Hall Preservation Trust.
'
Set up by Sir Gyles Isham in 1974, the Lamport Hall Preservation Trust was established to continue the lengthy restoration programme of the hall, gardens and estate which Sir Gyles started to ensure it's survival for the enjoyment of visitors and as a centre of culture and education. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of this momentous occasion in Lamport's history.
'
This specially curated exhibition tells the story of the Trust, bringing together stories and objects, many of which haven't been told before. Starting in the late nineteenth century, the exhibition follows the fortunes of the estate through Depression and war, the rise of Sir Gyles Isham and his passion for Lamport, the lengthy restoration programme which took some 50 years to complete and concludes with estate today and the bright future which has been secured thanks to Sir Gyles' vision.
'
The exhibition is open from April to October and is housed on the ground floor of the house. Admission is included with any house admission ticket. Please see our opening page for more details.
'
In addition to the exhibition, throughout the year there are a number of special anniversary events taking place. These include;
'
- A Country Club Cocktail Party
